How Baseball Became My Passion

I was four years old and didn't know what I was getting into. I was excited to start what I was going to do. My dad told me I should try tee-ball. I told him I would give it a try so my dad signed me up in my local tee-ball league. I was so excited that I could not wait for my first practice. A couple weeks later it was time for my first tee-ball practice. I had so much fun during the practice that I did not want it to stop. I was sad towards the end of my first practice because I was having some much fun. After my practice I could not wait to play my first game. The next weekend was my very first tee-ball game. I was so excited until the day actually came. I was kind of nervous because I didn't know what to expect. I dressed up in my uniform and went to the game. At the start of the game I was still nervous but after the first inning I was not nervous anymore. I realized that it was more fun than practice. I also got my first hit that game which made me even more happy. At the end of the season we had won most of our games but we did not win the championship. I was still happy that I played that season and I thanked my dad for encouraging me to play. I also asked my dad to sign me up for the next season.

After that season I was to old to play tee-ball so I have had to move up to my local baseball league. It was even more fun to play without the tee. I had played in my local baseball league until I was about eight years old when a travel team asked me to play for them. I told the team I would love to play for them. I had made friends with everyone on the team the first practice. I had played on this team for about four years and I was twelve years old. Since my team was a twelve years old and under team we could go to a place that was very special.

My team and I were able to go to Cooperstown in New York. It was a baseball tournament for twelve and under teams from many different states. The tournament was only in the summer. My team was going the very first week. Their are around one hundred teams their each week and each team gets their own cabin. If your team goes their you get a free ticket to go to the Baseball Hall of Fame. My team made it to the final sixteen teams and then lost. Even though we did not win the whole thing I had so much fun. It was one of the best experiences in my life.

After Cooperstown my team broke apart and we were no longer a team anymore. I was sad but I was also kind of excited because I was going to join a different team and be able to meet new friends. The team I joined was really good. We hardly ever lost a game. I was really good friends with all the kids on my team. I was having so much fun playing baseball. Then after my season with that team some kids moved away and we did not have enough players to be a team anymore. Right after the team broke apart I joined another team. I have been on this team for the rest of my time.

I love to play baseball now. I am constantly playing. It is my favorite thing to do. My dad and all of my coaches have helped me get better over the years. That is how baseball became my passion. What is your passion and how did it become your passion?
